~ About Me ~
I
first discovered the link between breath and consciousness at 5 years
old when I realized I could make myself pass out if I held my breath
long enough. Years later I began a more formal study of this
relationship through my yoga practice. In addition to undoing
much of the damage my body had incurred through soccer, rugby, lacrosse
and growing up with two older brothers, numerous teacher
trainings and workshops taught me that the ancient yogis had been
teaching about the link between breath and consciousness for thousands
of years prior to my epiphany at 5 years old.

I
live in San Francisco and have worked in jobs pumping gas, landscaping,
managing international research expeditions, developing
adventure-based education curriculums, consulting on management and
environmental issues, developing business and IT strategies for
startups and established companies, and most recently managing a team
as senior director for a large health care organization. The above
experiences coupled with my yoga practice have allowed me to live in
the world while taking an ever deepening look at my relationship with
it.
About EbenFlow classes:
My
classes are grounded. I link movement and stillness with breath in the
goal of bringing students into their bodies to feel what is real.
My goal in class is to create a space and approach that is real though
light-hearted, enabling students to have an experience wholly their
own.
I
am influenced and inspired by my teacher Daniel S. Barron. My
yoga practice has been primarily influenced by Jamie Lindsay and Janet
Stone. In addition, Christopher Love, Darren Main, Rod Stryker,
Geoffrey Roniger, Steph Snyder, Anna Forest, Dharma Mittra and Andrey
Lappa have all played special roles in my path.
